What A Season! (For mainly the wrong reasons...)

2007; Tough League. Pro late. Wayward bowling. Irresponsible batting. Sleepy fielding. 2 wins in a weekend. Fresh hope. Bloody rain. Wet. Dropped catches. Missed opportunities (Ashington/Morpeth/Leadgate/BenBottle). Relegation. Overall improvement.

Looking forward; Dimi's potential, Knighty's potential, Charlie's keeping, Richie's captaincy, Moh's return, Phillips' sobriety... Bring on 2008!

Any thoughts?

Can't wait for April; what a season we will have in 2008 when we consistently hit our potential in the way we have since we were relegated!

Personal highlights; the games we won, the improvement we've shown, the great crack amongst the boys, and the pride I've got in our amazingly talented young team.

Individually; Loose's incredible commitment and mature knocks, Micky P's all-round talent, Dimi's staggering natural ability, Knighty's moosing and catching, Smoggy's hands, Charlie's fire and warm-ups, Mirza's backfoot straight sixes, Jimmy's effort and cricketing nous. I could go on but me tea's ready and I've had a few occifer. Oh aye, I love Moh too, Sharpy's a national treasure and Meiks throws like a girl.

A tough year agreed... a relaxed winter of reflection, then hit the straps again next april. Take A2 apart and come back with a vengence. We know we have what it takes. I for one will be approaching it with a renewed sense of concentration and enthusiasm. Important to play the PMCC way (as we did the last two games), believe in each other without all the hype. TTFN

I still think Mieks losing his virginity was a very important milestone not just for himself, but for the club as a whole.
